James Kesler, HFA

Area Director of Operations

James is the Area Director of Operations for Bloom Senior Living, and the Executive Director of Bloom at Kokomo. He was previously Bloom at German Church’s and Bloom at Eagle Creek’s Executive Directors. James is responsible for overseeing daily operations and providing support to Bloom at Eagle Creek and Bloom at German Church, ensuring high quality care and services are provided to residents and achieving high resident satisfaction. Like the Bloom owners who were inspired after experiencing the challenge of finding the right home for their grandmother when she began suffering from Alzheimer’s, there is a touching personal story behind James’ passion for senior care. James believes in offering a modern, lifestyle approach to healthcare that caters to the needs of each individual. He shares Bloom’s vision, core values and is committed to creating a living environment that fosters self-growth and self-actualization for our residents by providing them with the tools, resources and encouragement to flourish. Before joining Bloom, James worked for national providers as the Executive Director and Director of Admissions and Marketing for Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing communities in Indiana. Before becoming a licensed Health Facility Administrator, James ran his own commercial production company specializing in corporate and large-scale entertainment (for clients such as the Indianapolis, Colts, Harrah’s Casino, Wonka Candies and Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association); and worked in the beverage and automotive industries. He is also a professional magician. James attended Indiana State University and is working towards his Master’s Degree in Arts at University of Indianapolis. He resides near Greenfield, Indiana with his wife and children.

Melissa Campbell

Interim Executive Director

Melissa is the Interim Executive Director responsible for overseeing daily operations of the community, ensuring quality care and services are provided to residents and achieving high resident satisfaction. She is Bloom’s Corporate Director of Education and Development responsible for the training, development and growth of Bloom associates consistent with the Company’s mission, core values and cultural initiatives, clinical standards, policies and procedures, State regulations and customer service guidelines. Before being promoted to Director of Education and Development, Melissa served as Bloom at Lakewood’s Executive Director and was responsible for near perfect customer and associate satisfaction, non-existent associate turnover and occupancy of 98%. Prior to joining Bloom, Melissa enjoyed 24 years in skilled nursing serving as Executive Director of a variety of communities. She specialized in associate stabilization, census growth and customer satisfaction. Melissa is a graduate of Ohio University with a degree in long term healthcare management and a minor in gerontology. She is licensed in Ohio, Indiana and South Carolina.

Jana Cheek

Wellness Director

Jana is the Wellness Director. Her responsibilities include overseeing our resident’s health care services, medication delivery system, and developing each resident’s care plan. Jana started in Nursing at 17 years old as a Certified Nurse Assistant in California. She joined that Navy at 19 thinking she would become a Hospital Corpsman (medic) but instead she learned how to repair the ship’s engines and air conditioners. After she completed her service in the Navy she moved with her husband to Indiana where she returned to working as a CNA and enrolled in nursing school. She graduated from IVY Tech in 1991 and began working as a LPN. She has worked in Long Term Care for more than 25 years; Working as a charge nurse, unit manager, MDS Coordinator before coming to Bloom. Achieving resident happiness is her number one priority. Jana resides in Franklin, Indiana with her husband and two dogs. Her favorite leisure activity is spoiling her grandchildren!

Tammy Alexander

Dietary Services Director

Tammy is the Dietary Service Director responsible for overseeing the Dietary Department and makes delicious and nutritious home-cooked meals from scratch every day for our residents using only the freshest, seasonal ingredients. Our residents enjoy a five-star dining experience lead by Tammy filled with a rich assortment of menu options. In collaboration with our Registered Dietician, Tammy incorporates resident’s personal recipes, special requests, old time favorites and specific dietary needs so our well-balanced gourmet menus are designed with their health, personal tastes and preferences in mind. Understanding how important great food is to our residents, Tammy is consistently introducing exciting new cuisines for the community to enjoy.

Shanise Taylor

Business Office Manager

Shanise is the Business Office Manager responsible for maintaining day-to-day business office operations and procedures, including payroll, rent deposits and resident billing.  She is an experienced social service professional with hands on experience working with individuals from diverse socio-economic and demographic backgrounds and within a variety of environments. She has worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Life Recovery Center, Care Manager at Central Indiana Coalition on Aging (CICOA), Family Case Manager at State of Indiana Department of Child Services and Public Caseworker.  She has a bachelors in business administration and masters in health and human services from Marian University and St. Mary’s University of Minnesota respectively.

Anna Poteet

Community Relations Director

Anna is the Community Relations Director responsible for sales and marketing and has helped numerous families find placement for their loved ones. She is here to help you navigate the process and find the best fit for you and your loved one. Anna was previously Bloom’s Life Enrichment Coordinator and was certified as an Activity Director in 2011. She completed specialized training for Alzheimer’s and related memory disorders. Anna attended Indiana Institute of Technology and received her degree in business administration.

Sherry Faulkner

Life Enrichment Coordinator

Sherry is the Life Enrichment Coordinator responsible for planning and coordinating community-sponsored activity, exercise and wellness programs for residents.

Toni Palmer

Director of Housekeeping

Toni is the Director of Housekeeping responsible for keeping our resident’s homes and surroundings in a clean and safe condition. Toni is a self-motivated achiever who simply gets the job done. Toni has held several housekeeping and management positions for over 30 years. She has a son & a daughter and four grandchildren. Toni spends a lot of time with her family after work. She has two dog’s and she lives on the south east side of Indianapolis.

John Williamson

Director of Maintenance

John is the Director of Maintenance responsible for maintenance, repairs and improvements to the community and keeping our residents’ homes and surroundings in a clean, comfortable and safe condition. John loves working and interacting with our residents and families on a daily basis to ensure our residents are safe and happy.
